    Developer Popcap took to their blog to announce the latest update to their recently released multiplayer shooter, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle from Neighborville.

    The new update brings a bunch of new general fixes, holiday spirit, and much more! The big addition is the updated Giddy Park location. It will be decorated with Christmas decorations and winter items. However, it will start next week on December 2. The general update fixes a multitude of bugs, weapon tuning for characters and much more!

    Patch Notes

    General:

    • Added a brand new map: Oozevoir
    • Updated the Giddy Park loading screen to a winter-themed version
    • Added new grandmaster ranks to the game so character levels now reach 50 (current best rank is 20)
    • Updated the social tab to show Grandmaster Ranks for all Giddy Park players.
    • Updated player rating plates to make them more readable
    • Moved completed Free-Roam region medals to the bottom of the screen
    • Updated the latest Weekly Challenges so they now give Rainbow Stars instead of Coins
    • Added a Vanquish/Vanquished ratio to the end of round table for multiplayer games
    • Added new UI icons for character perks, including attack, defense, speed, and character-specific perks.

    Turf Takeover:


    • Reduced capture time for some objectives
    • Hit targets on the final objective more easily in Goopy Gully

    Régions Free-Roam:


    • Added a new “Occasional” setting that reduces the amount of damage players take while at low health.
    • Added a cooldown to Bravery Hunting and Gnome activities in the region.

    Giddy Park:

    • Added two new festivals – Feastivus and Snowday
      • New dressing set for each festival with “snowy” terrain and visual effects
    • Added three new activities in Giddy Park for Snowday Festival in January – Treasure Hunt, Bounty and Coin Catch

    Battle arena:

    • Updated so that the last player standing now receives a 10% increase in spotting and speed boost buff to help them fight the opposing team

    Rux’s Emporium:

    • Includes the ability for players to buy now costumes, gestures, emotes and more
    • Ability for players to purchase Rainbow Stars for use in Rux Emporium.

    Major bug fixes:

    • Fixed the bulletin board so it can now be seen when the player is defeated
    • Adjusted mouse sensitivity options to have a wider range, allowing the user to tweak them much finer
    • Fixed healing beam so it no longer gets canceled when the target has sprinted
    • Fixed the issue where players could get a full challenge after rerolling

    Controller Parameters:


    • Increased maximum acceleration
    • Reduced scale factor (acceleration) for aiming acceleration

    Options:


    • Extending our maximum value for controller sensitivity
    • Extending our maximum value for controller sensitivity
    • Extended our max value for Controller Aim Acceleration

    Assist Assist:

    • Assisted settings set to low
    • Acceleration thresholds adjusted
    • Reduced multiplier when facing targets with aim
    • Reduced aim assist when extreme stick pushing
    • Reduced base aim assist area when aiming down sights

    PC controls:

    • Adjusted ranges and step values ​​for mouse sensitivity
    • Min sensitivity value Adjusted mouse

    Game Modes:

    • Increased disarm time in Gnome Bomb
    • Reduced maximum time to be revived in Team Vanquish

    The third entry in the series, Battle for Neighborville, brings a new feel to the game, while staying true to the franchise. From the early reviews, Popcap managed to give the game a fresh look. However, as many reviewers say, if you're not a fan of the previous titles, this one probably won't change your mind.


    It's fun, colorful and enticing, but if you're not a fan of the show in general, Neighborville won't change that. Check out our recap review for the recently released title, here!
