The cookie crumbles
Food company Capcom and Ezaki Glico have announced a collaboration to bring together Street Fighter V loyalists, the "Pocky KO Challenge", an odd place of in-game marketing that combines the cutthroat action of Street Fighter V's most famous fighting franchise all time with the popular chocolate covered thin sticks.
The rules are simple, but scary. Players must allow their health to be reduced to the point where the health bar matches the chocolate to cookie ratio of a standard Pocky Stick, then win to fight to score a special "Pocky KO". Once done, players can send a Pocky KO snippet to the Pocky KO Checker for confirmation. Street Fighter commentator James Chen explains the Pocky KO Challenge in the video below.
The prize, as such, appears to be the possibility that your Pocky KO could be one of eleven to be thrown at the upcoming Capcom Cup in December. If that wasn't enough, an exhibition match will also take place at the event. Professional players will participate in a special Capock Cup Pocky Challenge, held on an exclusive UI variant of SFV, dubbed Street Fighter V: Pocky Edition.
Ezaki Glico also released Pocky under the Street Fighter brand to commemorate the occasion. Available to order from the Asian Food Center, these limited-edition Pocky packages feature images of iconic Street Fighter superstars Ryu and Chun-Li munching on Pocky. Pocky Pocky, and Pocky Pocky when Pocky.
Street Fighter Pocky is Pocky on PockyS4 and PockyC.
